As part of the activities of the 3rd International Future Week for Sustainability, and under the esteemed patronage of Prof. Dr. Hasan Shakir Majdi, President of Al-Mustaqbal University, the university has taken a pioneering step by authoring and publishing thousands of educational storybooks designed specifically for children. These stories creatively illustrate the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in a simple and engaging manner that aims to embed sustainability values in young minds. The Sustainable House Shines at Al-Mustaqbal University Sustainability Exhibitions

As part of the 3rd International Future Sustainability Week Festival 2025, Al-Mustaqbal University showcased the innovative "Sustainable House" project, hosted at the Al-Mustaqbal Center for AI Applications in collaboration with the Energy Research Center. The project presents a practical model of a smart and sustainable home, integrating artificial intelligence and renewable energy technologies to efficiently manage lighting, cooling, energy, and water consumption. The Third Edition of the International Future Sustainability Week Festival Kicks Off at Al-Mustaqbal University with Broad Official and Academic Participation

Under the patronage of His Excellency the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naeem Al-Aboudi, and under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Hassan Shakir Majdi, President of Al-Mustaqbal University, the third edition of the International Future Sustainability Week Festival 2025 was officially launched today at the university campus, with broad participation from official and academic figures from Iraq and abroad. The first day of the festival witnessed the inauguration of the First International Conference on Modern Technologies and Their Applications in Sustainable Education, alongside the opening of several scientific exhibitions featuring initiatives and projects presented by students, researchers, faculty members, and academic departments. These exhibitions reflected promising contributions in support of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The opening ceremony was attended by several prominent figures, including the representative of His Excellency the Minister, President of the University of Babylon, Prof. Dr. Ameen Al-Yasiri; the Governor of Babylon, Mr. Adnan Fayhan Al-Dulaimi; Chairman of the Babylon Provincial Council, Mr. Asaad Al-Muslimawi; and the President of Alanya Alaaddin Keykubat University in Turkey, Prof. Dr. Kenan Ahmet. A number of university presidents, deans, government officials, academics, and researchers were also in attendance. Governor Adnan Fayhan Al-Dulaimi delivered a speech in which he praised the achievements of Al-Mustaqbal University and its pioneering initiatives in community service and quality education. Prof. Dr. Ameen Al-Yasiri, in turn, conveyed the greetings of the Minister to the university’s leadership and staff, wishing the conference and the festival continued success. Prof. Dr. Mudhaffar Sadiq Al-Zuheiri, Director of Scientific and Academic Supervision, delivered a speech on behalf of the University President, noting that this year’s edition coincides with the 15th anniversary of the founding of Al-Mustaqbal University College, and the first anniversary of its transformation into Al-Mustaqbal University. He reaffirmed the university’s commitment to realizing its motto: "Towards a Sustainable University". Dr. Al-Zuheiri also highlighted the pivotal role of artificial intelligence in advancing digital transformation, particularly in the education sector. He pointed to the establishment of the university’s Artificial Intelligence Center in 2024, which has contributed significantly to the university’s leadership in the field. He further noted that sustainability concepts have been integrated into academic curricula, and that more than 65% of the university’s total research output is now aligned with the SDGs. The opening ceremony included two panel discussions. The first focused on global experiences in sustainable education, featuring the delegation of Alanya University and moderated by Prof. Dr. Tariq Jawad, Director of Scientific Affairs at the University Presidency. The second session addressed the role of universities in achieving SDG 4 – Quality Education, with participation from Prof. Dr. Faten Al-Qazzaz, Scientific Assistant to the President of Al-Mustansiriya University; and Ms. Nahida Ahmed Abduljabbar, an expert at the Human Development Directorate and Director of Educational Policy at the Ministry of Planning. The conference aims to explore cutting-edge digital and smart technologies that can enhance sustainable education practices. Topics presented included artificial intelligence, virtual reality, e-learning technologies, and big data analytics in education. The sessions attracted distinguished academic and scientific figures, as well as delegations from Arab and international universities, who shared their experiences and best practices in advancing sustainable education aligned with global standards. Outstanding Participation of Gifted Girls School Students in Al-Mustaqbal University s Sustainability Week Festival

As part of the Sustainability Week Festival hosted by Al-Mustaqbal University, the students of the Gifted Girls School in Babylon Province made an outstanding and active participation, accompanied by a distinguished group of teachers: Dr. Arwa Mohammed Kitab, Dr. Enas Fahem, and Dr. Noor Falah. During their participation, the students presented four innovative projects — three in the field of software that tackled environmental and social challenges using smart technological solutions, and one hardware project aimed at promoting sustainability through simple yet effective resource recycling techniques. The Director of Al-Mustaqbal Center for Artificial Intelligence Applications, along with his team, expressed their sincere appreciation for the students remarkable performance and extended heartfelt thanks to the respected school principal, Dr. Ikram Kamel Al-Muhanna, for accepting the invitation and for her continued support of scientific and educational initiatives.
